Walking in Paradise

Mission: Now Boarding.......
Location: Holodeck 2 Recreation clear lake park
Timeline: April 2th 2391

Aladdin lead the way to the holodeck which was near by ten forward. With Liviana and Mickey following behind. Mickey just felt the soft tender embrace of her soothing as he felt comfortable around her, even as he noticed that she was also a woman of mystery. But for right now he didn't care about anything in that moment. For one minute he looked at her not because she was beautiful, because she was there for that moment.

"I really hope you like this program because, i know we don't know each other. But when i am around you i feel whole again. Like i am happy again" Mickey just looked down trying to hide his emotions but failed at it as there was a smile there no matter how hard he tried to hide it

A professional seductress and a reader of people, Liviana knew the signs, and they were written all over this one. She'd have to tread lightly... she hadn't turned on the charm or used any of her usual tricks, but McClane already seemed to be making puppy dog eyes at her, and he wanted to show her his special place, his retreat from the world. When a man offered you a glimpse into his sanctuary, you had to understand what it represented and respect his emotional bravery.

Or foolhardiness, which was often difficult to tell apart.

Aladdin stopped at the doors as the three arrived at the door with mickey entering the program. "Computer, run McClane Program 1" He ordered the computer as it confirmed with the orders and then said.

"Program complete enter when ready." The computer opened as the doors to the holodeck open into a peaceful environment where there were playgrounds, green hills, and a lake which was clear while the air was warm and sunny.

"Welcome to my world." Mickey smiled as he was in his favorite program again with Aladdin running to the fields.

"Earth, I'm guessing?" she took it in at a glance, sniffing the air as she shielded her eyes from the sun with her hand. A pair of sunglasses materialized in her hand and she slipped them on, though he hadn't heard her issue an order for them. "It's hot... where is this place?"

"This is Clear Lake Park. A place on earth I love to go to. It just brings me comfort because here is where I feel safe were the one moment in my life, brought peace where I always felt secure," Mickey said as he took the nice warm air but the computer made the temperature just right for them.

Nodding, the pointy-eared redhead took it in. Freshwater lake, a collection of docks with tethered boats with what looked to be a nature trail winding through it, with some structures in the distance whose purpose she could only guess at, while in the distance was an aged yet preserved wooden rollercoaster. "It does seem pretty peaceful," she offered with a small smile.

"So, what would you like to do... take a stroll around the lake? Just take a walk in the fields or....." Mickey was about to suggest something else but Aladdin came to the two with a tennis ball and dropped in front of them. "Or play catch with Aladdin?" Mickey wondered what she wanted to do.

"It's your place," she replied, bending smoothly at the waist to pick up the tennis ball. Indicating that she had it in hand, she showed it to Aladdin then tossed it ten meters or so. Her form was poor, her aim was lousy and it was clear that she was no athlete. In short, she threw like a girl. Turning to eye him, she shrugged, a somewhat seismic activity on her buxom frame. "You make the call. I don't have anywhere to be for another half hour or so..."

"All right, watch this" Mickey took the ball and threw it in the lake were Aladdin was expecting it he dove in the water as he swam after the ball.

"He certainly is determined... but that's a dog and a ball for you I suppose. They never get tired of chasing it, aye?" The sultry scientist watched as the retriever lived up to his name and swam out to grab the tennis ball, then turned to begin swimming back for shore with strong and even strokes, doggie paddling for shore at a healthy clip.

"i could show you how to do it. But i would have to give it a personal touch..." Mickey's cheek's blushed beat red he didn't want to do anything to make her uncomfortable but at the same time he want to make her feel more comfortable with the ball so that way she would do more.

That got him musical laughter. "Oh, I'm sure ye could show me a bit about ball handling all right. But trust me, if I haven't learned how to throw a ball properly in me thirty-odd years, I don't think I'm going to get any bettter today. I'm content to be the busty brainiac and leave the physical stuff to others. You can throw like a pro, and I'll be able to calculate the mass and density of a star from spectrometer readings, hm? We all have our skills," she deflected cheerfully.

Aladdin came back up to the shore, shaking off the water before the returning to the two happy as a clam as he was getting exercise.

Mickey gave the ball to Liv to show her a proper throw that even a girl could do. Men and Women should be equals, after all.

"Now, this is how you do it." Mickey went beside her with the throwing arm to her that if he could do it she could to. "Now with just a flick of the wrist and the proper aim" Mickey got her in the right mode of throwing.

As if it were purposeful, Liv chucked the ball, again sending it wild and ending the throw too ate, which caused the ball to hit the ground and bounce, still ending up in the lake but by accident rather than design. "Eh, just not my thing," she shrugged, clearly unfazed by it.

Aladdin torpedoed after that ball in the lake despite her fumble.

"You see, anything is possible" Mickey smiled as he was showing her a little bit of his world to him.

That got him a short bark of a laugh, which then became a giggle. "Ohhh, you can trust that I am a firm believer in just what is possible in this reality. And a few others..."

"I don't honestly know why, Liv but I feel like we may have known each other in a different life. I know this is uncertain of me but i really do like being around you. You make me feel complete again" He smiled not making any movements beside he want's to take this slow with her.

Reincarnation was not a theory to which Liviana McCray subscribed, but she'd heard similar things before. Nell, King Sneferu had said as much to her during the fourth dynasty, much to the consternation of Hetepheres, who had feared that Liv had desired her crown and throne. A narrow escape from poisoning that time had left the traveler with a distaste for dates to this day. But in the here and now, the ops chief had just laid his heart on his sleeve, and it was time for some delicate dancing. She offered him a wan smile as she considered how best to approach this.

"Well, I am willing to see where this goes if you want to take this risk with me?" Mickey said nicely offering his hand seeing if she want's to see where this goes as Aladdin returned with the ball and he played with the ball himself as he let the two be but kept a close eye on them.

"Mickey... you've only just met me. You don't even know me... you don't know my past, you really don't even know who I am. And while I will admit that I am deeply flattered by your attentions and your gentlemanly approach... well..." Liv turned away slightly, wrapping her arms beneath her bosom, hugging herself. "I... I lost someone... someone very dear to me, not long ago. And it's just... it's too soon for me to get involved with anyone else again. Plus... well, you seem like a nice fellow and all, but... we're shipmates. We just met half an hour ago, and if we get involved and it doesn't work out, that is going to make for some remarkably awkward staff meetings, I think."

"I'm sorry Mickey... you do seem like a good man, and I do look forward to getting to know you, I do. But as a friend... at least for now. I'm not ready for anything more... I hope that you can understand?" Turning back to face him, McCray's expression was one of regret and old pain, the kind that never completely goes away, yet you learn to live with it over time.

"I was hoping for now it would be friendship. But i feel your pain as well as i too lost someone many years ago." Mickeys anger showed of the pain of loss but he didn't show his anger to Liv but he sat down for a minute to think of Leena. "You see Liv, i had loved once but i couldn't let myself get emotionally attached. You know your friendship right now would mean more then anything to me. That is if you want to take that risk with me besides who knows were it will go?" Mickey made his intention more clearer as he offered the hand of friendship to her.

The expression of regret softened, and Liviana unwrapped her arms from her waist to extend a hand to shake McClane's. "Friends I can do. Throughout space and time friends have seen me through good times and bad, and I'm always willing to make another friend." The wry smile settled into place. The femme fatale had danced this dance many times, but at least the opening steps hadn't resulted in a trip or a fall, and both parties were still on their feet with enough room left between them for Jesus, as it were.

"As for where it may go... well, there are more things on heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy..." McCray added cryptically. It was one of her favorite lines- in general, it applied to everyone as much as it had to the man famous for authoring it.

Mickey smiled at the idea of the friendship that will come along the way he plans to get to know everyone and hopefully maybe find love again one day but for right now he enjoys the company of Liviana getting to know her and the mystery.
