Round two - Stevens vs Wescott

Posted on Tue Apr 17th, 2018 @ 2:02am by Commander Bertrand Cuprum & Lieutenant Commander Alec Wescott & Lieutenant Simon Stevens

Mission: Of Machines and Men

Stevens and Wescott became aware of their surroundings again, the recent combats having passed before them in some coma like state.

"Thank you contestants," The woman spoke to them. "You are progressing to round 2. Only one of you may pass to round 3, however..."

Again the shift in focus, and now Stevens and Wescott became aware of their surroundings again, the recent combats were in the arena on opposite sides.

A voice boomed over the arena, "Ladies and gentlemen, and other viewers. I present to you Round two PVP Combatants 1338547 and 1338548, Lieutenant Simon Stevens vs Lieutenant Commander Alec Wescott! Only one can continue to round 3! Place your wagers now!"

This was not what Simon had signed up for, fighting his crewmate but to survive was natural and looking at Wescott he knew that he had more experience than he had. Which meant that he had to surprise the Lieutenant commander and hope that he would not get into any trouble for it when they got back to the Victory.

As he charged at the other Starfleet Officer and hit him full force with a spear that sent the officer clear across the room, as he hoped that he had knocked the wind from Wescott, he looked down at the other officer and gave a smile, He picked the officer up pulling him onto his shoulders. Simon said "One shall stand one shall fall" as he threw him over his head in a move from one of the old wrestling programmes called the attitude adjustment.

Alec landed with a huff, but quickly got back to his feet. Years of training in the arts of wrestling had made him quite strong, and not easy to knock the wind out of. "Oh, now you've done it Lieutenant!" He called to his opponent, before running at him, and landing a strong roundhouse kick to his opponents ribs. Alec heard a loud crack as he did, and followed it up with a few punches.

The pain was communicated to the combatants in their chair, but only as information. They felt the drone bodies performance reduce automatically in response to the simulated damage. Two broken ribs meant Simon's drone would be slower in turning and responding, appropriate to pain and shortness of breath. Likewise, Alec's drone was feeding information that was slightly delayed and unclear to represent the mild blow to the head he had received in the fall.

Simon looked at the information on his screen, his drone flipped up back to his feet as he felt his breathing heavily due to the damaged ribs, But Simon moved back to give himself some room to get himself time to breathe.

Noticing Simon backing up, Alec pressed forwards, determined to push him back against the wall. He noticed his drone stumble a bit, realised the blow to his head had done more damage than anticipated. He changed his mind, and backed up as well, giving his head a chance to recover.

Having recovered from the head blow, Alec reached down to his belt, reaching for anything he might have to use as a weapon. His hand brushed against the butt of his phaser. His Phaser! How could he have forgotten his phaser!? He drew the weapon, and pointed it squarely at Stevens chest. He fired, hitting and killing.
