Location: Mess Hall / Captains Mess

The kitchen was a bustle of activity as the kitchen was in the middle of prepping quite a bit of meals as a test run of some of the menu ideas that the chef had planned in his brain. All you heard was clanking of dishes on the counters being filled all sorts of food from all over the Alpha and Beta quadrants. And other dishes not readily known in the alpha and beta quadrants.

“Make sure all the labels are in the right places and also the signs.” Trax said quickly to his helpers. He was glad for the extra help since the kitchen was not set up like he wanted it to be for him to have ultimate functionality and efficient.

Trax was trying to deal with kitchen layout, putting away of supplies , trying to get a hydroponics location next to the kitchen set up for his fresh items. And putting other items into stasis to keep the food fresh and ripe. Also setting up coffee plants and tea plants for future coffee and fresh tea. Along with other specialty plants that are not easily obtainable like oskoid or uttaberries which are a Betazoid delicacy. Especially on longer missions outside of the federation sphere of influence. Basically the frontier.

Personally Trax believed fresh foods were a lot better than replicated synthesized foods. Trax was hoping to meet with the captain to get better ideas of what the man liked and the crew as well. He knew he had to deal with several types of eaters. The vegitarians and the meat eaters etc.

Trax made up several types of salads, from standard salads, to club salad or chef salads along with other sides like potato salad and macaroni salad. Baked beans and corn on a cob, home-style green beans, peas and carrots, and other mixed vegs. He took a moment to relax before starting on prepping and making of the meat choices.

He started making chicken type dishes, all different styles from backed, fried, boasted, etc. then going to turkey of different types too. Oven roasted turkey, grilled turkey deep fried. Etc. several beef choices from hamburgers to roasts and ribs then to pork fried, baked, BBQ’ed from roast to chops as well. Then to more exotic dishes from across the galaxy. Like Vulcan dishes, Andorian dishes, Betazoid dishes, etc. not mentioning some of the classics Terrain dishes like grilled chesses, hotdogs, BLT’s, Shredded BBQ beef or Pork.etc. French fries, homemade chips and other finger food appetizers.etc.

Of course there would be plenty of different varieties of food in the replicator systems as well. If they chose or preferred the replicator method instead of fresh cooking.
By the time he was done there would be plenty of samples to go around the mess hall and the captain to try . He took another moment to make sure they had set up the buffet table before the rest of the food went out to the table. He gave a quickly look over. “Very nice job !” He spoke to his staff with sincerity and appreciated what they have done. He made sure the heat lamps were working properly before he went back to the kitchen to bring the other dishes out. He looked over the labeling on the food and the boards at the ends of the buffet table. Making sure all was labeled right and if the items were spicy or not.

He also placed a sign by the replicators letting the patrons know they were more than welcome to sample the food on the buffet. And there will be a questionnaire sent out later to see what food they tried and see if they liked it or not. Other suggestions for possible food ideas. And other comments and suggestions that the crew might have. Like a theme night like Mexican cuisine night, Chinese cuisine night, Thai cuisine or etc. Of course he was more than willing to make some specialty dishes the crew wish to have. Like catfish or ribeye steak or porterhouse. Some special family recipe.etc.(made sure that was on the comment card as well.)


Trax was so pleased on how things were going right now. He cleaned up the kitchen so it would be ready for later on. “Take a break guys and gals! We have plenty in the warmers for refilling and others are in the chillers. We will start baking in an hour!”trax said sincerely to them all.

Approximately an hour later he started prepping the dessert buffet. He had the guys set up another series of tables for the dessert courses. While he started mixing and baking several types of cakes, pies, straddle and other desserts like Jell-O and pudding etc.

After the baking and there was plenty made up of deserts on hand they all started cleaning the kitchen up completely. “alright guy and gals were on break now. Please take time to try out some of the stuff on the buffet.” Trax said as he dismissed them to deal with their nourishment time. As he took a seat at a desk in a small room he took as his little office. As he finished off the comment cards and sent them to all on ship. And he also took a minute to eat a small snack while he sat there.

He would talk to the captain later about his job assignment but so far he was still having fun being a cook not just a bartender.
