All the Kings Men: Wargames
Location: Intellingence Analysis Center, USS Victory
Timeline: Current
Mirenna and Torin sat at their stations, as they always had, and worked. Although they were both eager to meet their new Department Head, they were also nervous. Lieutenant Jarax was a man with a reputation. He was rumoured to be a tyranical, pious man who was prone to outbursts of anger. Mirenna had even heard that he once sent three of his staff members to Sickbay in a single day with varying degrees of injury.
Nonetheless, the prospect of the man leading them was absolutely astounding, and they were intent on making a reasonably good impression.
Jarax had only just settled into her cabin before making the journey to Victory's Intelligence Center. The trek was not long, but he had a level of anticipation which made it seem arduous. He keyed in his clearance codes, and stepped through the double doors to the new heart of his work life.
Lieutenant Jarax was not at all impressed by the sight before him. The Intel Hub was manned by only two staff members, both Ensigns. There were PADDs strewn about. It looked as though the last officer charged with the task of maintaining the space was not as mindful as he was.
As the doors closed being him the Ensigns, who were seated, jumped up and stood by their seats.
"Lieutenant, we weren't expecting you so soon." said Mirenna.
"Well here I am." said Jarax, his arms outward to add to his words. He lumbered stalkingly towards the two younger officers. "Where is the rest of the Intelligence staff?" he asked, putting his hands on his hips.
Torin answered in Vulcan montone, "We are the dedicated Intelligence Staff sir."
Jarax sighed, stepping in close to the pair and speaking again, "We'll need to change that the next time we're docked"
He turned her back and took a few steps up toward the raised work table. He looked for a moment and then pushed a pile of PADDs from the surface. "That means I'll need an Encryption Specialist, a Infiltration Specialist, since I assume you both are neither," Mirenna glanced at Torin, "and one more general Intellingence Operative." He turned to face the pair from his raised locale, "Why aren't you taking notes?"
Torin and Mirenna both grabbed for PADDs and began inputing the requests.
Jarax's face broke in to a smile, and he turned, heading off to find his office,"I'll need a pot of fresh uttaberry tea,"He called back to the pair, "And clean this place up." He barked.
Mirenna looked at her Vulcan companion and smiled. This would certainly be a new experience for them both.
