Healing begins

Mission:
Trills and Thrills
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: When the team is back on the ship
Meekly the Dalacari stepped inside sickbay. Both forms fidgeting, neither looking entirely happy to be there, or entirely there, for that matter. She observed the bustle quietly for a moment before stepping in further, finding Sara and addressing her. "Hey. Do you - " one form began and trailed off, for the other form to pick up again. " - have a moment?"
Standing over to one side, Sara was preparing a schedule for her medical scans for the away team. She wanted to make sure that none of the away team had been overly effected by the stasis process. hearing someone talk to her, Sara turned to see both forms of Val standing before her, "ah, Sergeant, excellent I was just about to call you down here. what can I do for you?"
"Are you alright?" one form of Val asked, as the other produced a small box offering it to Sara. "I wanted to - " as one form stopped talking the other took over. " - apologize. For - ... Shooting you. I wasn't in my best mind, to - " and focus shift back again. " - put it mildly." Inside the box were some seeds, along with a small card upon which was a picture of a beautiful flower found on Dalacar, a flower of orange and pink, with gold accents.
Sara smiled as she accepted the box, "I should be the one to apologize, I had a theory that separating your two forms via stasis might have a deleterious effect on your psyche. I should have acted faster when I saw you had been separated" she said, placing the box on a nearby table, "you will have to assist me in tending to these flowers. I have little experience with horticulture"
"Apology accepted." Val said, easily. "As for your theory, that is - " Focus shifts were more common when she was stressed and couldn't afford to concentrate on minimizing them. " - what happened. I must ask you to take - " And back again. " - me off duty until further notice, and for you to - " contact the Dalacar institute of mental health and ask for - " seamlessly back to the other. " - a psychologist that specializes in link damage."
"do you have anyone specifically in mind?" Sara asked, making a note of the request, "can I get you to lay down on these two biobeds" she asked, motioning to two side by side biobeds.
"No. No-one in mind." Val lay down as bade, the one with the prosthetic arm on the near biobed and the whole form on the far one. She closed her eyes and heaved a sigh. "Whenever a link is broken and re-established there - " It was still a bit weird hearing the exact same voice suddenly from the other side " - is an element of risk, especially when under duress, in - " And back again. " - stressful situations. And my link didn't synchronize properly."
initialising the biobeds scanners, Sara let them run as she walked over to stand between the two bodies, "is there something I can do to help your link? I am familiar with treating telepathic species along with some biotechnology"
"I don't know." Val replied, sounding a bit dejected. "I'm just a soldier, not a - " Focus shift again. " - psychologist."
“Perhaps this is something you should study. Although occurrences like this are rare, it is a good thing to know” Sara said, bringing up holographic displays above each of Val’s bodies. Each display was a three dimensional opaque holographic display of the scans that had just been taken. Looking between them, Sara tried to find anything different between them that might help her, but again she had no luck.
“If it is alright, I am going to sedate both of your forms and allow your bodies to wake up again naturally. Perhaps that could repair the link by restarting it” Sara suggested.
Val was willing to give it a try, on the off chance it might help. "Alright." she simply said, both forms closing their eyes and relaxing.
Sleep came quick but was restless.
