Debrief

Mission:
Trills and Thrills
Location: Ready Room
Bertrand had settled right back into the XO roll as if the incident on the surface had never happened. He was even back to his old grumpy self. He and Elijah sat in the ready room in their regular management meeting.
"Cor has put in his leave application, and I have approved it," Bertrand was in the middle of giving his report, "Which means the ship is going to Hel while he is gone. No definite date on his return until he's had a chance to talk to a psych."
"That's fine." Elijah said nodding his head. "We owe him that much."
"We have a request with the Delecari gov to send a specialist to help Val. They seem open to it, but they are working out the logistics. I am hoping to get them to come to us, rather than loose Val of ship for her recovery."
"Sign off any paperwork that will speed it along, also prepare any special requests they may have." The Captain responded making notes.
Bertrand made a note and continued, "The USS Salvation reports that it has begun the thawing and has already catalogued three First Contact species. We are now trying to get in touch with their home worlds. Diplomats are going nuts."
Elijah was still surprised that it was only 3 First Contacts given the number in Stasis but it was a start at least. "Excellent have Keller look over any of the Data."
"We are expecting a lot more, they have only opened just under a thousand or so pods at this time. Meanwhile, ship repairs are at operational levels, with full repair sign off later this week. We are going to need to leave the engines below Warp 7.9 until they are completed just to be sure."
"Understood, I'll make a note for all Watch Officers and Helmsmen to stick within that operational zone." He said nodding his head.
"Crew have been debriefed and most have been returned to their usual roster, with the exception of Val and Cor."
The Captain nodded. "I'll take 98% as opposed to anything less than that."
"I'll take any away team where we come home witht he same number who left," Bertrand agreed.
"I think that's everything," Bertrand threw the PADD down on the desk and took a moment to stretch out his stiff neck. "Any idea of where we are being sent next? No chance that there is an emergency on Risa that requires me to personally test every deck chair on the South Beach?"
"Trill." Elijah said bluntly. Looking to his XO and then back to his work. "Something at the Science Academy requires our attention and Starfleet feels that the Ship has been here a couple of weeks and needs a break."
"Very astute of them. I haven't actually been to Trill before. That does pose another issue for us though. Our CSciO is due some leave as well. If this is a Science issue, we may need someone else to take the lead on it. Did they say what the issue was, so we can brief our field specialist?"
"Jaton will be filling in as Chief of Sciences, I'll have Valeria do little bit as well." Elijah commented. "I'll forward all the information to your Office but bottom line is that there is a Spy on Trill, leaking secrets from the Science Academy."
"A corporate spy?" Bertrand let air whistle between his teeth. "Now that really IS my thing. Haven't done a good clandestine investigation in years. I'll go over the information prior to staff briefing. Anything else, sir?"
"Not at all XO." Elijah said smiling. "Dismissed."
