Closing the circle

Mission:
Debts to be settled......
Location: Medical
Timeline: After returning from the Planet's surface
OOC Bert: Since Sinclair has not logged in for nearly a month I am going to write assuming her character takes certain actions, just to keep the motion flowing. I do this because I have been asked by the Co to move this post along, and do not condone the appropriation of other people's characters.
ON
"Bertrand to Lt Wakeman, Captain Sinclair and Ensign Kilbane; meet me in corridor B7, deck 15. Priority one."
Corridor B7, deck 15 was just around the corner from medical, but not close enough to be able to see or be seen by anyone coming or going. When the other officers arrived they found Bertrand, phaser drawn watching Medical carefully from a concealed position.
As each person arrived he signaled them to move behind him silently and wait for everyone to be present.
Kevin was in the armory carrying out the phaser checks when heard the call from Lt Cuprum over his COMM. Within seconds he'd secured all but one of the phasers he'd been checking, he took this one with him, also grabbed philipa and left to go. Within minutes he was on deck 15 and in corridor 15 where he could see the Chief signaling him to move in behind him.
Kevin could see that the Chief couldn't cover all of the corridor outside of Medical, so though he silently moved in behind the Chief, he edged out at an angle. It was just enough that he could cover the corridor where Lt Cuprum couldn't, but not enough that anyone coming down the corridor or out of Medical could get a shot at him.
Sela couldn't have been in a worse mood even if it was mothers day. Interrupting here just before she could call her girlfriend was just about the most annoying thing that could happen to her. It took her less than a munite to get down to deck 15 and was approaching the chief. " Were do you need me, sir?" She asked doing her best to keep her temper under control.
Once the team was assembled Bertrand spoke quickly and quietly, "Our away team recovered what we thought was a surviving scientist from the colony recently attacked by Jem'Hadar. We now have reason to believe that he is a Dominion plant and was spared by the JH, not just escaped. We have no evidence at the moment, except circumstantial, but if he is a threat we need to secure him and we are not sure what he is capable of."
When we show up in force it may spook him, or he may try to keep up his bluff. The plan is to try and draw those around him away so we can erect a containment force field and trap him. Currently there are three staff inside; Lt Mordin, Dr Antos and his Nurse. Wakemen you take the Nurse, Kilbane you deal with Mordin. I'll remove Antos and Sinclair, you keep your eyes on the prisoner. We want to move everyone away from him without making it obvious and giving the game away. Is everyone clear?"
The hybrid security officer nodded to show she knew what she need to do.
The door to medical opened with its customary swoosh. Inside the sole survivour of the ill-fated Science expedition was sitting on a biobed being tended to by the Nurse while Valeria stood close, engaging him in small talk, and Antos ran some scans over him. Anyone entering such a large, near empty room might draw attention, but four armed personnel instantly had everyone watching them. Bertrand tried his most congenial smile but, admittedly, he was a little out of practice.
"Don't mind us," he said, "I am just taking the newest crew members on their tour."
Turning to his team he said, "Get familiar with Medical. In our line of work we will probably end up here a lot. Move around and get to know it."
Turning back to the Medical team he signaled to Antos, "While I am here, Doctor, could i have a couple of moments of your time to talk about scheduling some field medicine refreshers for my team?"
Antos moved towards Bertrand casually. "I don't see problem or any issue with having a refresher in First aid and field training exercises there always a good thing." He said sincerely. "Just let me know when its convenient for you and your staff." We can start off with the basics here in medical then move to the holodeck for a test of sorts in a mock situation from battle field ops or a M.A.S.H Hospital." Antos said with a small smile.
Kevin moved over to one of the bio-beds, a couple behind where the survivor was. He picked up on of the PADD's lying on the side table and pretended to take great interest in what he was reading on the screen.
"Excuse me Lt Mordin" he said to Valeria "could you please explain these findings to me, I'm a bit of an amateur mineralogist and these readings look exceptional!"
The rabbitess gave a soft smile, "Of course. Always a pleasure to help further the pursuit of knowledge." and she gave a walk over towards Kevin. Her glance slid towards the survivor once she passed him by, "These things can be very misleading if one doesn't know exactly what to look for," she added.
Antos kept quiet as he listened and watched what was going on near by.
Valeria turned towards Antos for just a moment, that hollow glance cast by her reflectionless eyes landing upon him. "Apologies, but this should only take a moment. Geology was a third hobby of mine for a while." a pause, then a smirk, "There was a cave near the village where I grew up that I wasn't supposed to play near, but invariably found myself at." and she turned to resume her trek to Kevin, "I'll be in earshot if you need my assistance."
"Very well!" Antos looked at her a bit funny then went back to cataloging some samples.
Sela put on her best friendly face and walked over to the human nurse. " Excuse me. I know you're busy, but I could really do with a top up of my flingosec. Could you replicate some more for me." She said to the blonde human nurse who smiled in reply and lead her over to the medical replicator.

The scientist watched as all but the EMH of the medical team were drawn away, and as the Marine stood by the door watching him.
"Ah," he said simply, shifting off the bed onto his feet.
"Computer, Activate field now!" Bertrand yelled.
A Level 3 force field went up around the scientist, strong enough to hold back energized plasma. The scientist smiled slightly and pulled a device from his belt. Bertrand pulled his phaser, knowing he would not be able to shoot through the field. He signaled his team to stand by.
"Antos, get your people into your office."
The scientist pressed the device and spoke into it, "It is time to come and collect me."
Bertrand cursed himself for not thinking to put up a communications block, "Bertrand to Bridge, Red Alert! You're not going anywhere, pal."
The individual looked at him as if considering his words carefully. "Not with the shields up," he conceded.
Suddenly he stepped straight through the force field. Bertrand had been sure he would stop short on the edge of the field and was so stunned to see him pass through that he forgot to fire. The hesitation was enough for the Scientist, There was a sudden shift and he melted to goo, passing rapidly over the floor then out through an access plate.
Bertrand said something in Klingon that the UT couldn't translate, "He's going to try and take down the shields. That means probably operations or engineering. Kilbane, get to Operations. Wakeman, get to Engineering. Update them on what's going on. Sinclair, we could use some marine boots in the corridors with their eyes peeled."
He glanced at Antos and Valeria, "You two, secure this room in case he tries to get back. I need to get to the bridge."
