Follow the nose

Mission: Vipers and Scoundrels
Location: Cardassian Freighter

Aladdin was following his nose. Dogs tend to smell rather than rely on their eyes and the experience is difficult to describe to others.

The freighter was old and falling apart; a museum piece that had been dragged into space with some urgency. There were very few crew and all of them smelled of nervous energy. They chemical trail crawled through the corridors, sometimes overlapping. The air filters were barely working so the trails were undisturbed enough to be actually confusing.

One thing that soon stood out was that they were all avoiding the cargo hold. There were signs that a Romulan and a Human had been to the door, as well as a couple of the Cardassians, but no sign that anyone had entered or left it.

Aladdin was not a cat, driven by curiosity, but he was on a mission and under orders to check everywhere for leaks. He stood on his hind legs and pressed the door release panel with his paw.

What he saw inside were three large crates, each nearly two meters tall and a meter on each side. They emitted no smell, but there was an access hatch to see inside.

Latinum. Three small fortunes worth of Gold pressed latinum, sitting in the hold, untouched.

This needed to be reported, but how could Aladdin do that without his speech collar on?

"I need to tell this to Mickey, and or bertrand. But without my speech it will be hard" Aladdin thought to himself.

Aladdin ran to the location of Mickey and he headbutted Mickey in the leg.

"Oh!" Mickey was caught off guard when he saw Aladdin. "Aladdin, whats wrong boy" He asked as Aladdin ran off to the place he found the Latinum. Mickey tried to catch up but Aladdin was on the job. Aladdin arrived back into the room as he ran to the crates of latinum. Mickey came by a minute after

"Aladdin, if we were on the ship this would be play time. But, this isn't. I wonder what the heck......." Mickey was walking up to Aladdin as he got cut off with what he saw. "Latinum. What the hell?" Mickey looked at Aladdin and smiled at him as he gave him a hug then a dog treat for being a good boy.

Mickey then hit his combadge. =A=Commander Bertrand, to my location=A= Mickey called the security officer to share his findings

The Commander then came over to find what had the ruckus been as it was a surprise they never thought
