The Restless wait.

Mission: The Trial of Cor Cordale
Location: USS Victory - Bridge

AJ was so far out of his element. First he was trying to get used to be on a ship and not a SFI team and then he was adjusting to being in command of his own unit. But now he was acting CO while the CO, XO, and 2XO where away.

The Victory was in a holding pattern just off the station trying to jockey with all the other traffic. AJ refused to sit in the chair he just paced around. "Helm, what is our status?"

"Still holding position, sir, avoiding traffic is a bit tricky, but I can handle it." Kayne replied as his hands used the controls.

"Your doing great." AJ told the helmsmen more out of nerves than anything else.

Felix stood at Tactical and observed the Marine Captain. The Human wasn't exactly comfortable with the seat it would seem. "Captain Jones, away teams are all on Presidium and accounted for." Felix said as he checked the console.

"Thank you. Any thing strange on scans of all this traffic?" AJ knew nothing was probably gonba happen, but this was his way to fight complacency.

"Negative everything checks out." Felix said as the Orion Warrant Officer relayed the information. "Most of the traffic is Nironese anyway."

Walking into the bridge from one of the turbo lifts, Sara walked over to one of the science consoles, before turning her attention to the young man, "sickbay is standing by just in case Captain"

AJ smiled at the doc. "Seems to be what everyone is doing. Standing by and hoping not to run into all this traffic." AJ slowed his pace. "Anyone have any good stories they want to share while we sit here?"

"I can tell you one about a Bolian and a Denobulan but its not appropriate in front of a Lady." Felix chuckled from Tactical.

AJ snapped a look at the Tactical officer. "It's best to not tell those kind of stories." AJ turned back to the view screen and the size of the shipyards. "There is so many people working here. It reminds me of one of the times my parents took me into the big city. As a kid watching all the shuttles buzzing around the huge skyscrapers. Never would have guessed I would be standing on a bridge watching all this."

"For me, this reminds me of the first time I saw the Federation Fleet in Starbase 001" Sara said, looking over at the view screen, "it may seem like chaos, but there is a pattern to it"

AJ took a second to stop pacing and just watch the screen before he knew it he had taken a seat in the center chair. He did start to see a method to the madness that was taken place in front of them. "That is pretty cool when you just slow down you can see the pattern." He remarked. After snapping out of it and realizing where he was sitting he gave a bit of a chuckle. "Mr. Kilvarn any word from any of our teams?"

"No Sir." Felix said as he monitored his display. "I did do a quick scan and I noticed several Commbadge signatures on surface and main shipyard."

"That sounds like our crew" Sara commented

Being new to the Vic AJ turned to Sara after the remark. "Do they tend to not communicate much?"

"I would not know. I was just observing that these Starfleet signals would be our crew. Nothing more" Sara explained, turning to AJ

There was an alert sound on the ops station as a sudden power spike was detected. As AJ watched the view screen, a large orange plume of flame appeared at one of the gravity stacks. Apart from that nothing happened immediately.

"Captain Nironese Control just lit up." Felix said as he rushed to Tactical. "Reports coming in of explosions and casualties on the Presidium."

While AJ hated being bored he really didn't want anything to happen on his watch. "Someone hail our teams I need to know their starus. Also inform the station we standby to assist." AJ pushed some buttons and put two fire squads on standby.

Tapping her combadge, Sara got to work, "Dr T'eseri to Sickbay, prepare for incoming casualties, the nature of the injuries is unknown at this point in time. Prepare for any eventuality" she said to her staff.

The image on the main screen changed form the station to a Nironese officer. His gills were white and he looked flustered but his tone was level.

"USS Victory, This is Presidium control. Thank you for your offer of support. We are unable to accept the offer at this time. Our more pressing concern is to return your Captain and crew to you safely. Please dock at Hatch 38, and we will escort your teams to you. A reminder that the use of transporters is impossible within the Well."

AJ looked at the screen. "Were any of our crew injured in the blast?" AJ inquired something felt off.

The officer consulted a monitor just off screen, "we... are unable to ascertain that for certain at this point. Your commanding officer is being escorted to Hatch 38. Again, we respectfully ask you to remove your ship and personnel to a safe distance."

Felix monitored the Traffic as it seemed to steer clear of the Presidium.

Kevin smacked his COMM badge and replied "Kilbane here. The Security team and XO are ok, we're not far from where the explosion took place. Something appears to be happening to the Presidium, the effect of which is causing fire damage to one the Gravity stacks and it's disintegrating, causing chunks to fall to the ground. We'll try to find out more and check in later, Kilbane out."

The young Ensign at Science looked to the Crew. "Sirs, if these calculations and projections are correct then the Presidiums orbit is decaying, best guess is an hour she'll break into the orbit and rain debris on the City."

Moving over to the Science console behind her, Sara excused the ensign and started entering a few mathematical equations, check back to the sencor data every so often to get correct numbers. "My calculations agree with Ensign's estimations. The station has just over an hour before entering the atmosphere, however, several sections of the station will brake away before then" she said, sending a predictive model to the viewscreen, "most should burn up, but there are a few larger sections that will remain intact and impact on the surface of the planet"

After some more furious typing, Sara updated the display, "most of the debris will fall outside of the major cities, but these three will hit the largest city within an estimated 20min" she said, highlighting three larger sections that were bearly attached to the station.

"We are going to need Boots on the ground, even if it's just for relief efforts." Felix commented to AJ and Scotty. "The Nironese might be willing to let a team go to Presidium in a Runabout to pick up the Away Team save us Docking."

AJ took everyone's ideas into consideration. "OK. for now we will follow what the Nironese want. Bring us into Dock 38 so we can get our teams. We have teams already standing by if they ask for our assistance on the ground we will go. Until then our priority is getting our crew back."

"Shuttle bay reports that the runabout is ready." Kayne said, turning around. "Bringing us in range."

"I'll try and get a fix on the Away Teams." Felix commented. "If they need a lift we can pull them out sooner rather than later."

Unfortunately, the Gravity Stacks still had enough draw in them to disrupt the transporter signal. Fortunately, while they were still outside of the direct influence, they could pick out their teams on the Surface. Once, they docked however, beam up would be impossible.

"I'll be down in sickbay" Sara said, hurrying off the bridge. She hoped that she wouldn't be needed, but it was still a posibility.

"Coming in Range, sir." Kayne reported.

Cor's voice came back from Comms, "We're on the tram currently, there seems to be a situation in the Gravity Stacks region. All Victory hands accounted for here and unharmed."

AJ quickly replied back. "Victory reads you. Keep us up to date if your situation changes."

"Michaels to Victory, we are alright here Victory but the Station is in bad shape."

"We are working on a plan to help where we can." AJ replied to the Captain.

=^= "This is Cordale to Victory. Target the falling debris and try to take out the larger pieces. Gotta give the people below a chance." =^=

Vaporising something that size would just cause a dust and particle matter debris cloud of similar mass, but it would be slowed down by atmospheric drag, spread out over a large area, and with pieces of microsopic nature instead of macroscopic. It would be a nuclear winter descending, but hopefully without the cataclysm on the scale of a significant portion of an orbital platform sized inferno hitting a population center.

"Phasers are armed and targeting just give the order to fire." Felix said at Tactical. "I can target the Debris before it surface."

=^=Ziyal to Victory, can you get me in touch with whoever is in charge of the tugs?=^=

"We can try for your Lieutenant."

"Confirming we have the ground team including the XO and CTO back on board, sir."

Bertrand strode onto the bridge and instinctively made to walk to the Tactical station. He changed his vector and moved to stand next to Jones.

"Report?"

"Coming in range to launch a runabout without getting hurt ourselves, sir." Kayne told Bertrand.

Bertrand nodded, "Lt Kilbane, get yourself and a Security and medical team on that runabout. I want our people found and retrieved, but we also need to help as best we can."

"Aye Sir" Kevin answered.

Tapping his COMM badge he said "Lt Kilbane to Lt T'eseri, please have a medical team meet me at runabout pad one straight away."

=^= Understood Lieutenant =^= Sara responded.

Tapping his badge again Kevin said "Kilbane to Karadis, have Security teams one and two draw phasers and meet me at runabout pad one stat!"

"Yes Lieutenant, right away" Karadis replied.

Closing the link, Kevin exited the bridge and made his way to the runabout pad.

"What's the condition of the Station, Cpt Jones?"

"Structurally parts are breaking off and headed to the surface we are prepared to fire on the debris to try and break the big pieces up. They wanted us to dock with the station but with it having so many issues I think the runabout is a safer option at this point." AJ said as he moved away from the center chair.

Bertrand nodded, "Good plan."

"Commander incoming message from the Captain. Priority One." Felix said as he punched up the message.

"Commander, the Engineering Teams are dead and the Student Engineers won't arrive in time." His voice sounded concerned. "Internal feeds show Cor's team are trying to help but are being halted by Security, myself and Keller are going to diffuse the Situation."

Bert turned quietly to AJ, "Prep a second Runabout with Marines. Hopefully we can get our people out, but if it turns nasty, they are an alien force, and that is your purview. Let's just plan for it not to come to that, eh?"

AJ looked at the XO and smiled. "Already had a team on standby will get them in the bird and ready to go" With that AJ tapped his com badge "Alpha team to the shuttle bay, Now!" AJ left the bridge on a mission.

The remaining Crew sat back and waited to develop the best course of action, right now however their Captain and a number of their Staff were on a Station slowly breaking apart.
