Crew roster

Posted on Tue Jul 18th, 2017 @ 9:39am by Captain Elijah Michaels & Commander Bertrand Cuprum & Commander Cor Cordale

Mission: Awakening
Location: Captain's Ready room

The three top officers have still been running normal ship's business in the preparation for the arbitration. They sat in the ready room going over the new crew rotations and rosters.

"Finally," Bertrand said, "We have the position of Chief of Security and Tactical. I understand you had someone in mind, Captain?"

"Yes I have had a very good résumé appear on my desk almost as soon as Kilbane left the Ship." Elijah commented.

"Well, the next in line through security is actually... Well, it is young Lt McCarver," Bertrand hesitated. "Have either of you met her yet?"

Elijah shook his head. "Not yet but I hear she's a very suitable officer indeed."

"I haven't had the chance to meet any of the new transfers." Cor admitted. Truth be told he was busy getting ready for, well, whatever was needed of him.

"She's a fire brand, I'll give you that. Amazing number of missions under her belt for one so young, and a strong passion for protecting those in her care. It's just that..." Bertrand cast around for the right way to phrase his concern. "She is young, and prone to hit people with furniture. Something of a habit of hers apparently. She's even won awards for tossing... what's a cabre?"

"Its a bit of wood weighs a fair bit and taller than the three of is combined." Elijah chuckled. "Raw recruit though and Karadis put in a transfer requet too." The Captain pulled up a file. "Commander Evans has served in the role on a Defiant and a Nova, they know their stuff."

"So in her spare time she throws trees?" Cordale asked, rubbing his chin with his prosthetic hand. "Sounds exactly like what we could use." he chuckled, clearly amused at the prospect. Humans were so weird.

"I'll send you the information for your next Shoreleave." Elijah chuckled.

"Just... don't take her to a planet of tables. Who else have we got on offer? Evans?"

"Evans and a Lieutenant Wescott, Evans has expressed interest in the Tactical part and Wescott in Security." The Captain commented. "So why not split the department? We have Evans heading up Tactical and the bridge station and Wescott as Security." Elijah shrugged. "McCarver can be the Assistant to gain experience."

"Makes sense to me. One of those eggs and baskets scenarios, if one of them is injured we don't lose two department heads." Cordale commented. "Planet of tables? Okay there's a story there."

"I'm not sure I want to know." Elijah raised a hand. "Seems like too much of a strange situation." He shrugged.
"Also whilst I have both of you here, our old friends the Jennarri have been spotted, this time attempting to reach the Cardassian Border."

"Great. More good news." Cordale said in an uncharacteristic huff. "How long until they reach the Cardassians?"

"You said 'Trying' to reach, as if they have been finding it difficult," Cuprum observed. "I would be very interested in what is causing them the difficulty. Also who observed them, strength of numbers and type of ship. The Cardassian fervor may prove to be a bigger attraction for the Jennari; either as foe or ally."

Elijah nodded. "The Cardassian 6th Order and elements of the 9th and 13th Orders met them at the border, a single Dreadnaught this time.....Our old friend the Redemption."

Cordale gave a nod, "Well, in any case, first thing's first let's deal with this call for arbitration. Then we can worry about kicking the Jannarri where it hurts."

"Agreed." Elijah nodded. The three of them then continued with the next part of the arbitration.
