Mission: Awakening
Location: Federation Space

The Victory dropped out of warp at the requested coordinates, in the space between worlds and stars and a relatively short distance away from a high-energy nebula. Suspended in the void, greeting the Victory, were two vessels unlike anything the Federation had on record. Two craft, from two drastically different species, built of two drastically different mindsets.

One, sleek and curved. Built to show a sense of speed, a sense of maneuverability, almost as though it were to emulate a living creature of the ocean depths. Brightly colored, and well illuminated, it almost didn't know the meaning of stealth. That was the Dalacari craft.

The other, an obvious craft of war. Armored, with visible weapon turrets to compliment the pathways of various energy arrays it carried a darker overtone. Where the Dalacari craft was a vibrant bird flitting from flower to flower, the Ts'usugi craft was a raptor, waiting for the chance to strike. Neither of the craft had their shields raised once the Federation craft exited warp space, and neither was showing charged weapons. The Dalacari craft had not deployed its drone swarm as of yet, and the Ts'usugi craft hadn't responded with fighter wings of its own. It looked like a stalemate, to the uninformed observer.

The pair of ships hung in relative space, unmoving and seeming waiting for the Federation craft's arrival before either would dare to act. One before the other the pair moved, as though roused from a slumber. The Ts'usugi craft was the first to react, and they opted to react with a hail.

Ziyal watched both of the craft as they floated in front of her. There was something about actually seeing the ships rather then just looking at video and pictures. Aesthetically, she liked the Delacari ship better. However, she also recognized the tactical advantages of the Ts'usugi ship's form. She would try to put the feeling of the scene into a painting later.

Hel quietly watched as well, from the back. The dichotomy was striking to her, and while she liked the to-the-point, function-over-form design of the Ts'usugi craft, she couldn't help but find the Dalacari ship fascinatingly beautiful.

"Yellow Alert. Helm take us to a position between the two craft," Cuprum directed. "It won't provide any actual cover against drones and fighters, but psychologically, it will remind them that we are here as the buffer between them both. Keep shields down and weapons unpowered."

AJ was watching a Bridge feed of things in the Marine Ops room. Boy those ships could not be more different he thought. He turned to his right hand man. "Gunny do a final check if something goes south I want the QRT ready to go."

Evans quickly went into action, this time at the Tactical station. Seconds later the ship was at condition yellow "Shields on your order sir."

Stepping onto the bridge, Sara looked at the ships on the viewscreen and smiled. The sleek ship design reminded her of the ships of her own people. Though the more rugged design was almost completely alien to her. Gathering her thoughts, she walked over to one of the science stations and brought up a sickbay display screen.

(Reactions to the craft's appearance goes here)

"Captain, we're being hailed by both craft." the communications officer called up.

"On Screen." Elijah said as he looked at the viewing screen.

The image of a Ts'usugi male stood proud on the screen. A humanoid rabbit-like being sharply dressed in a military uniform of a drab olive green with a light hexagon pattern printed on it, addressed the screen. "This is Shipmaster Koichi of the Imperial Cruiser Razor's Gale. On behalf of the Joint Defensive Accord, the Empire, and the local authority you represent, we thank you for arriving in such a timely fashion." the image lingered. "My craft stands ready for any inspection." What could be seen of the Razor's Gale behind the Shipmaster showed a very military bridge. Guards near what could only be an access-way, with various stations manned by Ts'usugi. The entire color scheme of the bridge seemed a muted, soft green in hue.

Next was an incoming hail from the Dalacari explorer. The image on the screen was slightly less professional than the Ts'usugi captain, featuring a pair of ermine-like creatures dressed in matching white uniforms with blue trim. "Oh thank Dia you're here!" one started, hardly the best way to start off the afternoon. "I'm General Craft Overseer Tio Dalla, overseer of the Dalacari explorer vessel Cartogus. In accordance..." and that one Dalacari stopped speaking. Just up and stopped, though the feed was still live and unhindered. His twin counterpart started speaking just a moment afterwards, as though he were always the initial speaker. "... with the Joint Defensive Accords, and in compliance with all local and interstellar laws and ordinances, we stand ready for inspection."

With both races on the screen, the difference between them couldn't be more pronounced. The Dalacari bridge was entirely staffed by the binary forms, seemingly operating various panels in something of a panicked pace. There didn't seem to be any guards or security, though. Where the Ts'usugi bridge was somewhat dull and drab the Dalacari bridge was very well illuminated and very white.

"Thank you, my Staff are ready to inspect your vessels momentarily." The Captain said as he stood up and looked at the Bridges of the two very remarkable and different craft.

There was an analytical look to the Ts'usugi, "It is good to finally meet a Federation captain. Who should we be expecting for the inspection team? We'll send a shuttle over immediately to receive them." While the Dalacari pair gave a pair of nods, "Oh it's a shame we have to meet under these circumstances, Captain." one of the forms said, "We'll prepare a reception zone for the transmat of the inspection team immediately."

"My First Officer will be leading one of the teams to the Ts'usugi Vessel, Commander Cuprum and a selected team of Specialists." Elijah commented with a nod towards Bertrand. "Commander Cordale will be leading the other team to Dalacari Ship."

"Commander Cuprum, First Officer of the USS Victory," Bertrum supplied. "My team is assembling now, Shipmaster. In recognition of your distaste for Transporters, we will bring a shuttle across directly."

The Ts'usugi Shipmaster gave a nod, "If you will be providing your own means of transit, I will have Lance Squadron standby and I will have Ivory Chariot return to standby status. Your approach vector will be..." and he turned his attention to the side, where he no doubt was investigating something. "... Your approach vector, by your measure, will be one three six at hangar bay seven."

"It will be well indicated from the outside." the Shipmaster finished.

With a glance to the Captain for dismissal he gave quick nods to his team member and left the Bridge for Shuttle bay 2.

Cordale gave a nod, "Feets in motion Captain. I'll gather everyone in Transporter Room One. Ziyal, ready?" he turned to the Cardassian before he started comm'ing up the rest of his team.

Ziyal touched the heavy duty tricorder, scanner, and extra PADD on her belt to make sure everything was there. She nodded at Cor, "Ready," She said as she moved to follow the Thux.

Hel followed Cor and Ziyal off the bridge. No words needed speaking, she had a task ahead of her.

Alex noticed a notification on his terminal indicating that the ship had arrived. =A= Vickers to Commander Cordale, I'll be in the transporter room. =A=

AJ passed Cordale and Ziyal on their way off the bridge as he made his way on. He had left his team to prepare but with the Senior staff headed off ship he thought it best to help on the bridge. As he walked out he slide against the wall trying to stay out of the way till needed.

"AJ I believe this is yours?" Elijah smirked as he motioned to the vacant XO seat.

AJ still wasn't used to all this bridge work but he served at the please for the Captain so he walked over and took the seat.

Looking around at all of the work the crew was putting in, Sara was facinated. This would be an excellent opportunity for her to observe how they handle such a situation as this.

=A= USS Torrens to Opps. Flight plan is in, and we are ready for your green. =A= Bertrands voice came over comms from the runabout.

"You are cleared to Depart USS Torrens." Elijah said as he pressed the panel on his chair. "See you soon."

When the channel closed Elijah looked at the remaining Bridge Crew. "Scotty maintain course between the two Ships."

"Bridge to Cordale, are you ready on your end??" The Captain asked.

"This is Cordale. My team and I are in the transporter room ready to head to the Dalacari craft." Cordale's reply came over the comm channel.

"Understood, you are clear to beam over when you are ready Cor." Elijah said. "Good luck."
