Anti-Piracy

Mission:
Vipers and Scoundrels
Location: Setak Nor/Victory shuttlebay
Commissar Brand leaned over the monitors. One was reviewing the station's security footage from the time of the incident. The second was showing a luckless Telarite who was undergoing some ruthless questioning. The Security officer pointed to a time stamp where the Teleratie could be seen using his pass to allow another person access to a restricted floor.
"Looks like he was telling the truth. He never accessed the floor himself."
"How unfortunate for him," the commissar murmured.
"Shall we let him go while he can still wal...limp out?"
"Hm? Oh, no," the commissar considered the broken figure on the other monitor. "Let's make an example of what we do to people who are not conscientious about our security. We went to a lot of trouble to get an Obsidian Order Security solution, and he just invites a hacker in."
"What about the hacker himself?" the security guard scrolled forward to the figure taking out the security guard.
"He's human, and trained in Starfleet fighting styles, though he has adapted some of the SI moves. Gentleman, we have a Starfleet operative aboard. I suspect we will find him attached to the Starfleet Ambassador we have visiting. Go and impound the ship and cargo. Kill the crew except for the Ambassador and his wife. We want to discourage Starfleet form becoming involved further."
An alarm sounded.
"Looks like we are to late for that," a man at the tactical console called out. Sovereign Class coming into the system."
"We can handle a single sov..."
"Three Keldon class and a Galor are with her."
The commissar paled, "Activate automatic weapon batteries. Prepare the escape ships. Release all the cargo bays and docking ports. Vent the Prominade. We need to keep them so busy they don't have time to catch us!"
Meanwhile...
Alarms sounded in the Hangar bay, grabbing everyone's attention. A moment latter the force field over the exit vanished and the atmosphere vented into space, taking the small squad of security and a few other personnel with it.
The sudden alarm and the shift in atmosphere caught the Thux's attention. Immediately his glance slid to Kevin, "Is this your handiwork?" he asked, almost amused in tone. Almost.
Kevin let out a short laugh "My....'handi'....work, oh, you're priceless!"
Straightening his face so it looked more serious, he then added "Oh yes, that was my doing of course. I so look forward to just killing people for the sake of it, and, my perverted logic dictated that easiest way was to just drop the force field and allow those people in the hanger to just drift off into oblivion."
He never took his gaze off of the Thux for a second "Seriously, you think I would, one, have the ability to bypass this stations security, two indiscriminately kill people and three, be 'that' callous? I mean, I know some people onboard our ship have their doubts about the Intel personnel, but, seriously...."
Cor matched Kevin's glare gaze for gaze, "You really think I know what you're capable of, Dogberry?" then his glare broke into a smirk. "You, intel. Now that's priceless.... and for the record, I've heard some horror stories about what Intel is capable of, but that's scuttlebutt. Now, relax. You're dangerously close to changing my opinion of you." and the Thux gave Kevin's shoulder a pat as he walked by.
"You think I care what you're opinion is of me? Man, you really are inflating your own importance as well as ego and blowing smoke up your own jacksy?" Kevin said "Just remember, scuttlebutt has some element of truth in it failed Sparky, so you never know what surprises might come your way. Some people sleep with one eye open after they meet one of us" he added with a wink.
Hearing the alarm, Satele rushed back to the helm and powered up the impulse engines. This wasn't normal for a station like this and she was getting the feeling that she wanted to be as far away from here as possible.
Bertrand was gripping his chair arm with his one hand, "Get us out of here! Maximum impulse. Full power to Rear shields!"
"Count on it" Satele replied. As soon as they had turned around to face the the now open hanger door, she kicked the impulse up to full and shot the shuttle out into space. "Could someone contact the Victory and get them to pick us up. I'd really like the extra fire power here"
"I'd love to Satele" Kevin replied "but I'm to busy being indicted for mass murder by our resident lawn mower mechanic..."
"The Victory is close. Just get us clear of the debris" Bertrand ordered, "and keep us away from... Where did the Cardassians come from?"
Elsewhere...
The USS Victory dropped out of warp to a seen of chaos.
"Captain, I'm getting a reading. They just killed there own crew. Wait a minute" Mickey looked also on the scanners. They also vented cargo containers and everything else from the station. They also flooded the Promenade. They also have all armament locked and ready to fire at us. Raising Shields" Mickey did just that as the ship's deflectors came on-line. "It's seems it's been flooded with poisonous gas. That doesn't look good at all. Whatever they did they covered there tracks good. Val, are your scanners showing the same readings?" Mickey asked the junior science officer.
The rabbitess twitched her ears as she called up the sensor array, "Sensors confirm the presence of tetrachloromethane, a poisonous industrial waste vapor not commonly used as a chemical agent. Though, it is incredibly lethal to inhale. My sensors also register a decline in atmospheric pressure within several key stations. It's possible the containment tanks for the tetrachloromethane were ruptured due to the loss in internal pressure. Though, the net result is the same." a pause, "Unprotected exposure to the Promenade is ill advised."
"They must be hiding something. I cannot get a clear reading if the away team is still there or if they've been blown out into space." Mickey just shivered what could happened into the vacuum of space "Val, boost power to the sensor away we need to find them" Mickey said
The rabbitess was a few steps ahead of Mickey's narration of the scene. Whoever was at the reactor controls down in Engineering was playing it safe, so they weren't overcharging the reactor. Pity, Cordale usually would have them around 102 on the reactor around now. "I'm not detecting our team amid the fleeing vessels or aboard any of the jettisoned life pods. I'm refining the search."
Smaller ships began to pull away from the station with whatever crew and visitors that had been lucky enough to have reached safety. The Keldon vessels moved to engage but were hampered by the automated weapons on the station. Unfortunately many of the escaping ships were also taking fire. The Cardassians seemed disinclined to take any prisoners for questioning. While the Galor focused on the Stations defensive grid, the accompanying Keldon ships were shooting refugees, cargo pods, floating debris, and anything else that floated indiscriminately.
"Orders, sir?" Tactical station stood ready.
Elijah looked at the Carnage and the actions of the Cardassians. "Helm take us in to the path of the Keldon Ships Weapons, Tactical divert power from non essential systems to shields." He looked at Val. "Val find me the Trafalgar and our Away Team." He turned to his Crew. "We are only to fire if we are fired upon ourselves."
Valeria gave the Captain a nod intense enough to wobble her ears. Searching for the crew in this chaos would be like finding a proverbial needle in a haystack. Though, the easiest way to find said needle is to bring a magnet. The Ts'usugi refined her search further, scanning for the one thing she knew had to be their's, and had to be unique. Or at least, should be unique in this corner of space.
"Outer Ring, docking section fourteen. I can get a better lock as we get closer and filter out the chaos surrounding the station." Valeria called out once she had general results. As they maneuvered, she'd refine.
"I am diverting what power we have left to the transporters so we can get them in one shot. Stand by" Mickey said as he looked for any available power left for the transport.
=A= Trafalgar to Victory. We could use a hand here. All hands accounted for but we would appreciate it if you could let your friends know we are not the enemy. =A=
"Understood, see you shortly." Elijah said as he got up from his Chair. "Bridge to Shuttlebay brace for a hot landing." He then moved to Helm. "You're relieved Ensign I have this."
The Ensign nodded as the Captain took over at Helm and the Bridge Crew watched in amazement.
Fortunately, most of the Pirates were just interested in escaping. The station itself began to fall apart and add to the general chaos. The Trafalgar was heading straight for the Victory, and the Cardassians lost interest in it, after a couple of random shots.
"I have a sensor lock on the away team." Valeria announced, "And... an incoming transmission from the same."
=A= Traflagar to Victory. Permission to dock. =A=
"Permission Granted." Elijah said as he pressed the Com channel. He turned to Tactical. "Ensign monitor the Ships leaving the Station, signal the Cardassians and tell them we have our people.
" Aye Sir." The Junior Officer said.
Mickey decided to transport them aboard in emergency landing. "Transport complete, the safety net has been deployed and the yacht has sustained moderate damage captain. Other than that we got them" Mickey then left the bridge followed by Ensign Aladdin with a medkit.
Shuttlebay
Mickey arrived with some of the medical staff from the sickbay as he opened the door to the Yacht. "Anyone of you guys need a medic?" Mickey asked with the medkit in hand an Ensign Aladdin without the camera.
Still in the pilots chair, Satele began shutting down all of the engines and started a cool down cycle. ~Hopefully that full impulse burst didn't damage the engines too badly~ she thought to herself as she sat back in her chair with a sigh of relief.
While Cordale sat in the advisory chair next to the Captain's chair, a firm grip on the handrest as he took the past few seconds into thought. ~That full impulse burst shouldn't have damaged the engines too badly~
Kevin picked himself up off of the deck. When the yacht had come to a sudden halt, he'd found himself unceremoniously dumped there.
"Well, as landings go, that one was a bit sudden" he said, dusting himself down "Still, it's good to be home" he smiled.
"Well, if you boneheads need a medic. Never fear Mickey is here" Mickeys said as the aids from sickbay tended to the crew
"Hay Kevin, bite me. I would like to see you do a better job"
"Lieutenant, Cool off. There is no need for fighting the important thing is you guys are ok." Mickey said as he used a medical tricorder to scan her biosigns. "Well, it seems there is no danger." Mickey said as he moved on to cor
Satele just huffed as she unclipped herself from the pilot's seat and started on her shut down check list.
"Cor, what the heck happened?" Aladdin walked up to the thux
"I'm good." Cordale said first to Mickey, waving off his medical assistance. Then he turned his attention to Aladdin. "Turns out they *didn't* want any Thux Scout cookies." he chuckled, "But as to what happened, that sorta stuff's for the official report. No scuttlebutt until the debrief." and he gave Aladdin's nose a tap, to seal the conversation.
"I wasn't having a go at your piloting skills Satele, I was actually making fun of myself for ending up on the floor having not secured myself in my seat" Kevin replied.
"Well, better get started on the official report to Intel HQ and also the report for the debrief here" he said, and made his way off of the yacht and out of the shuttle bay.
"Cor, let's check out the damage to the shuttle while were here." Mickey suggested to the thux
"That sounds more like my job than anything else." Cordale said with a half-chuckle. "You came down here with a medkit and a dream, make sure everyone's alright. I'll handle the inspection."
"Fair enough, but i am not going to let you going alone" Mickey smirk but it went away as he continued to help. "Aladdin, observe and stay with Mr. Cor if he needs any help get the engineering teams." Mickey just gave a smile to him
"You got it Mick." Aladdin went outside and stood out of the way.
"Don't be mad, Mickey told me to stay with you. He also said to let you do your job and if theres any help get someone with two hands to assist" Aladdin said and noticed the safety net on the ship.
"it's a good thing, this ship had a safety net for the crash landing because you never know my good man you never know." Aladdin said Nicely
Cor just gave the pooch a smirk, and pet the canine's head with his ancient prosthetic. "True. We never know." the Thux found it amusing how folks with all their limbs kept commenting to him how close their brushes with disaster were. With that, Cordale made his way towards the yacht's engineering bay. Time to check the damage for the report.
It seems life was getting back to normal on the victory Phase II soon begins
